Doctors & Staff

Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Pycraft Family Eye Care a proud provider of vision care products and services in Wooster.

Scott Pycraft, O.D.

Dr. Scott Pycraft was born and raised in Wooster, Ohio, and is a graduate of Wooster High School. He graduated Cum Laude from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in June of 2011 after receiving his Bachelor’s of Art degree in Microbiology from Ohio Wesleyan in 2007.

While attending Ohio Wesleyan he was a four-year starter for the Battling Bishops Football team. Dr. Pycraft is a huge Ohio State and Cleveland sports fan and is trying to check all of the Big Ten stadiums off his bucket list. He believes there is no better time of the year than a crisp autumn Saturday cheering for the Buckeyes.

Dr. Pycraft founded Pycraft Family Eye Care in 2018 and enjoys all aspects of optometry – but has a very special interest in ocular disease. Dr. Pycraft is a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association. He strongly believes in supporting local and fellow small businesses and is a member of the Wooster and Orrville Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Pycraft resides in Wooster with his wife, Elyse, and their son Graham and daughter Avery. In his free time, Dr. Pycraft enjoys traveling, cooking, tailgating, and spending time with his family and friends.

Ronald Pycraft, O.D.

Dr. Ronald Pycraft grew up in Lorain county and attended Wilmington College where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in 1978. From there he attended The Ohio State College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1982.

He took over for Dr. Lytle at a little practice on Buckeye Street in Wooster. Dr. Pycraft has always had an interest in ocular disease and in 2005 retired from private practice and went to work at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center at their Mansfield branch. In 2021 he retired from the VA hospital and returned to private practice to serve both the Orrville and Wooster patients with his skill and expertise.

Dr. Pycraft resides in Wooster with his wife, Beth. They were blessed with four terrific children Christopher, Scott, Erin, and Megan. These days he finally has the job he was best suited for: Grandpa. Dr. Pycraft loves to scuba dive, work on projects with Big Dan,  and spend time with his family.
